Founded by the Romans, according to some historians, the name of San Cipriano Picentino derives from the patron saint in addition to the adjective "Picentino", referring to the first human settkements on the Picentini Mountains.Very interesting is the Church of St. Andrew, probably built in 1309, and in which the Chapel of St. Margherita was built in 1509. The Church of Our Lady preserves a beautiful scagliola polychrome altar and a XVII century tabernacle representing the Pietà. The Church of St. Eustachio also merits a visit. This small town is also famous for the production of chestnuts, nuts, Montevetrano wine and extra-virgin DOP olive oil.
